The Royal Bash Celebrates One Year!
On September 27th, 2018, The Royal Bash celebrated our one-year anniversary. In a word it was remarkable. Our business pursuit was not “a dream differed,” as Langston Hughes wrote; we did not “dry up like a raisin in the sun.” Instead, The Royal Bash is thriving, and we could not be more amazed or prouder.
As sisters, this was our first venture in business together; although, separately we have had our own accomplishments.This was something new. Truly, I was concerned about how a business like this would affect us as sisters. My sister means a lot to me; she is truly my best friend, and the person I trust the most when I need to make hard decisions.
What happened was I learned more about business and she was able to let her hair down and enjoy the creative process. We have had misunderstandings and disagreements, but we were always able to resolve them because we are sisters who love each other. We also knew that we had taken on a new responsibility as women of color. We created a platform for women like ourselves; our products represent beauty, confidence, self-acceptance, and multiple facets of what it means to be a woman of color.
In addition, this anniversary celebrates sisterhood, and the courage to try… try something new. We want to thank everyone that has supported us thus far. We are only getting started; We are so ready to take it to the next level in 2019, join us on our journey!
